Joshua David Stein is a cookbook author (and co-author), journalist, food critic, children's book author, musician, artist and father who lives in Brooklyn, NY. Previously he served as the restaurant critic for the Village Voice and the New York Observer. Currently he helps put together Esquire's Best New Restaurant list. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, Men's Health, the New York Times, New York magazine, Esquire, GQ, The Sunday Times, Hemispheres, Food & Wine and many more.
Joshua David Stein approached me to help him build his portfolio site. The main goal of the site is to showcase the breadth and depth of his writing. The tagging system further emphasises this goal.
The Tagging System.
The tagging system is design to be a table of contents. Floating the most important and relevant information up-front. This list provides an extensive look at the breadth and depth of the content.
Tag Front Page
Navigating to the front page of one of the tags, we come across a list of articles with the same tag. Headline, DEK and publish date is coupled with the editorial art that the article went live with. The eyebrow links show the other tags the article is associated with; often with the publication.
The idea is to keep these are organic and native to actual article content to support the creative medium of Joshua’s portfolio.
Article Page
The article page is a well designed content page that looks and feels just like an article page from a media site. It’s designed to showcase the content in an engaging and joyful way.
